The Deaf Advocacy Project takes a 2-pronged approach to educating the public:

We provide education and training in ASL about domestic violence (DV) and/or sexual assault (SA) dynamics and safety planning.

We continue to educate and train hearing service providers in the DV/SA community about how to become more Deaf-informed.  We discuss Deaf culture, how to work with an interpreter and the “little” things that make a big difference when working with a Deaf person (ex: eye contact, a smile, friendly gestures).
